My mission as an End-of-Life Doula:
to restore dying and death to its sacred place in the rhythm of life.

My name is Alexia Chrisan, and I am a trained End-of-Life Doula through the Conscious Dying Institute in Boulder, CO. As an End-of-Life Doula, or Death Doula, I provide compassionate support to the dying person and their loved ones.

I have come to this work through a lifetime of supportive roles, most recently in elementary education. My interest in end-of-life began with my father’s unexpected cancer diagnosis followed by a quick death in 2019.  That led me to consider death, including my own, as I had never done before.

I am interested in all aspects of death and dying from the practical to the spiritual. I believe that with intention and planning, death can be beautiful.

I envision a time not far down the road when we are comfortable with death in our families and in our communities, when death is discussed openly without fear and is truly recognized as a part of life. A time when, in considering our own mortality, we choose to live more consciously and lovingly
with greater appreciation and joy.
